Associate Product Manager - Orthopaedics

Postion Summary
The successful Associate Product Manager will have 3+ years of technical, product or marketing experience in the medical device field and a proven ability to determine and communicate effective product positioning and key marketing strategies.
The client company is a privately held company focused on providing market-leading medical products to the orthopedic markets. The company has developed several patent-pending advanced orthopedic technologies that address the needs of patients requiring joint and bone replacement.
Overall Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing
· Develops and maintains market information system, SWOT analysis,
· Researches, analyzes, and remains informed about competitive products
· Develops and refines Price Strategy and Competitive Pricing/Share Analysis
· Directs Marketing Communications (Mar Comm) activities
Product Development
· Identifies, defines and presents new and existing product development opportunities and strategies to management
· Actively participates in development of products to meet anticipated market needs and specifications;
· Refines current product; works with R&D, Engineering, surgeons, and others
· Ensures deliverables are performed within Quality System and Business Conduct.
Clinical and Sales Support
· Prepares, provides product and service support materials to field personnel
· Prepares and provides training and education materials.
Educational Requirements:
· Bachelors in Business, Engineering, Marketing or Science Related Discipline.
Position Requirements:
· 3+ years of technical or marketing experience in medical device industry
· Proven ability to determine and communicate effective product positioning and key marketing strategies
· Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, manage and execute on several marketing projects simultaneously, within budget
· Proficient in multiple computer based tools (MS Word, Excel, Publishing, Acrobat etc.)
· Current experience in arthroscopy, sport medicine, or orthopedic surgery.
· Relationships with thought leaders, hospital administrators and KOLs.
· Experience launching a medical device product to the medical community, and knowledge of regulatory issues
· Proven ability to handle complex negotiations and experience with senior level managers and surgeons
· Strong analytic marketing knowledge and experience
