185 Senior Product Manager / Director - Medical Device, Spine  (Job ID: 185 SPM)

The Senior Product Manager - Spine will define and institute marketing strategies and plans for a medical device company which specializes in spinal products and systems.  This position will design and implement all aspects of the new product launch, monitor product launch results, and maintain marketing functions for MIS spinal implants, including cervical, IBF, lumbar and other surgical treatments for DDD and spinal trauma, including biologics.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the initiation and development of new and existing product lines (Several Product Launches planned)
• Will play an active role in product acquisition and development efforts
• Create and implement novel marketing initiatives designed for products designed for use in reconstructive orthopedic surgery and spine procedures.
• Design and implement marketing plans, including objectives, strategies, tactics, and P&L projections
• Oversight of marketing activities for new product development, including concept review and design development, project management, and product launch
• Analysis of customer needs and competitor products to evaluate product line paring or extension
• Design marketing documents, sales support materials, and customer service and operations
• Develop product profiles for white papers, presentations, corporate web sites and seminars
• Participat in product development functions with engineering, QA/RA/CA 
• Prepare annual budget forecasts for the marketing functions
• Managed the implementation of surgeon training courses, including cadaver labs  

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing,  Engineer, Biology, or a related field plus 7 years experience –OR–
• MBA with 5+ years of experience
• AATB regulations preferred

Position Requirements:

• 7 years experience with orthopedic, CMF, spinal or biological products to include a minimum of 2 years in spine or orthopedic biologics
• Strong working experience with surgical product marketing, knowledge of anatomy and surgical protocol.
• Must have work experience with market analysis, market planning, market development and management
• Must have knowledge of strategic and tactical planning and implementation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have a strong technical and conceptual aptitude
• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Must be willling to travel an average of 30%
