Using your 10+ years experience in strategic marketing and product development in the medical device space, you will be a senior leader in roadmap design and full PLC management for a diverse medical product portfolio with a goal of enhancing market share. You will lead upstream marketing for new product development to include the identification of business development opportunities, and line extensions through internal development and external acquisitions and technology licensing opportunities for an entire brand category revolving around innovative patient monitoring solutions, worldwide.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Define product roadmap and lead strategic marketing initiatives including market, industry and competitive analysis; product/platform strategy development; market research; and market development activities to enhance profitability.
- Collaborate with R&D and the global monitoring team to create the vision for the next generation of Patient Monitoring solutions – and execute on that vision as the primary influencer on a global scale to ensure execution.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through monitoring product performance in the field; establishing and maintaining collaborative customer relationships; tracking and resolving product issues; and representing the interests of customers to R&D and other functions within the company
- Leading the global monitoring category team, you will develop and manage direct reports to ensure maximum performance and potential to assume greater responsibility within the company.
- Lead and develop the marketing staff; develop marketing processes and procedures as needed; and, take ownership for creating and maintaining a market-driven culture
- Provide leadership and oversight for the product management function including collection of voice-of-the-customer, portfolio management, product definition, product development, and new product launch
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years patient monitoring or related marketing experience
- Experience in engaging customers (Medical Community, KOLs, R&D, etc) in the
US and abroad in portfolio planning and development - Ability to formally research & assess future market needs to determine opportunities
- Portfolio Management, Strategic Planning and Market Research experience
- Fundamental understanding of R&D processes and milestones
- Strong Project Management experience
- Up to 50% domestic and/or international travel
Preferred Experience :
- Early experience working as an external or internal management consultant in the medical device industry with companies such as Boston Consulting Group, KPMG, Bain, Point B, Monitor, Ernst, Accenture, Deloitte, Huron combined with 10+ years marketing experience in patient monitoring is preferred.
- Experience in PLC and portfolio / brand management conducting market and product opportunity assessment for a globally focused patient monitoring healthcare company such as Medtronic, Abbott, Pfizer, GE, Baxter, Welch Allyn, Drager, Phillips, Spacelabs, Siemens, Johnson and Johnson, Becton Dickinson, Datascope, etc.
- Marketing experience with the following companies (or similar, ne’e entities) Agilent Technologies, Medrad, Criticare, Invivo, Mallinckrodt, Fukuda Denshi, Masino, Conmed, NeuroScan Medical Systems, Pulsion, Axon, Bruker, Ceramtec, Colin, Datex Ohmeda, Or Sense, SIMS, Protcol
