The Principal Design Engineer will assume a leadership role for the development of drug delivery devices from specification through transfer to manufacture.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage the “Go to Market” Device Development for projects involving Drug Delivery in multiple platforms: syringe, reconstitution, inhalation, transdermal
- Primary design input and the ability to act as technical reviewer and/or project manager on drug delivery device projects
- Produce consistent work autonomously in your area of expertise and be sought out for advice in this area by engineers within the international branch of the company
- Interact with teams across the broad technical base in the USA and
Europe, including mechanical engineering, product design, software, electronics, informatics, regulatory affairs, life sciences, manufacturing technology and process automation groups - Lead meetings with clients, giving presentations, running workshops and communicating ideas and engineering concepts to all disciplines
- Support the activities of drug delivery sales campaign through attendance of sales meetings, writing sales presentations, project proposals and planning projects
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in major engineering discipline
- Master’s degree is a plus
Position Requirements:
- At least 10 years of drug delivery device development experience in syringe, reconstitution, inhalation, transdermal or similar
- Hands-on experience of mechanical design of drug delivery devices including concept development, detailed design, CAD/FEA/CFD, and GD&T
- Market knowledge of diverse drug delivery technologies including injection, infusion, needle-free and transdermal
- Experience in design for high volume manufacture of medical devices including plastic moldings and assembly processes
- Experience in multiple disciplines including software, electronics, and mechanical engineering
- Experience with conducting and participating in design reviews and risk analyses
- Working knowledge and experience of the regulatory environment in the
USA and EU - Market knowledge of diverse drug delivery technologies including injection, infusion, needle-free and transdermal
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
