The client company is a leading technology and innovation company whose major focus is on drug delivery, clinical diagnostics and medical technology. They provide a wide array of services, from product design and mechanical engineering, through software, electronics and wireless communications to life sciences. The Principal Engineer will assume a leadership role for the complete development cycle for drug delivery devices. This will include the preparation of specifications and design of the architectures through to approval for volume production.
Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver creative solutions for a range of medical products and lead major design input, acting as the primary technical reviewer and/or project manager on diagnostics projects.
- Participate in all phases of the product development process, from concept generation through to transfer to manufacture
- Interact with clients to interpret customer requirements and communicate engineering concepts
- Make individual contributions and manage tasks as part of an international multi-disciplinary product development team
- Lead meetings with clients, giving presentations, running workshops and communicating ideas and engineering concepts to all disciplines
- Support the activities of diagnostics sales campaign through attendance of sales meetings, writing sales presentations, project proposals and planning projects
Education Requirements:
- Strong academic record (Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required, Master’s degree in a related field strongly preferred)
Position Requirements:
· A minimum of 10 years of diagnostic devices and systems development experience.
· Experience in multiple disciplines (optics, fluidics, software, electronics, mechanical etc.).
· Experience working in the regulatory environment in the
USA and EU.
· Market knowledge of diverse diagnostic products including OTC, POC and high-throughput clinical systems.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Travel (up to 30%) including international travel.
· Bachelor’s degree in major engineering discipline (Master’s degree is a plus).
