172 Engineer Technologist I, Medical Device (Job ID: 172 Eng Tech) 

Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for investigating, planning, and implementing improvements in and/or additions to current products and manufacturing processes for a major medical device company. You will ensure compliance to quality policy, and IQ/OQ/PQ and perform audits, develop and implement test methods, develop fixtures, equipment, tooling, and parameter ranges. In addition, you, perform notebook studies and engineering confidence testing along with design of experiments. The Engineering Technologist will support engineers and production and maintain responsibility for troubleshooting equipment. 

Primary Responsibilities:  

·          Maintain and follow proper ISO procedures and GMP requirements 

·          Provide engineering support in the design, fabrication, development, installation, validation, and qualification of equipment/product which may include feasibility studies and/or proper documentation for justification of project and training to ensure proper operation of the equipment;  

·          Provide assistance for planning and implementation of projects to develop, install, and qualify new processes for manufacturing new products or improving existing products / processes;
Research and implement cost reduction projects;  

·          Implement and maintain plant wide calibration system, preventative maintenance and drawing control/document control system;  

·          Maintain a working knowledge of plant safety  

·          Participates in project performance team meetings on behalf of the job unit in order to provide ideas, methods, or processes for unit/company performance improvement.

·          Performs other job related duties assigned. 

Education Requirements: 

·          Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in an engineering discipline. Bachelors Degree preferred.  

Position Requirements: ·         

·          At least 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment designing, specifying, fabricating, assembling, debugging machinery/product, and manufacturing processes

·          Ability to create and work from engineering drawings

·          Basic knowledge of statistical techniques/methods

·          General knowledge of drafting

·          Communicating skills both verbal and written

·          Familiarity with some mechanical/electronic/chemical equipment and tools in laboratory testing
