We are seeking a Sr. Packaging Engineer who will be responsible for investigating, planning and implementing the more complex improvements in and /or addition to current products, specific to packaging, labeling and distribution. This position will ensure compliance to quality policy, respond to customer complaints, develop test methods, and write procedures for packaging, labeling, and distribution within the Manufacturing department.
Specific duties include:
Maintain and follow proper ISO procedures and GMP requirements; Provide technical expertise and leadership to members of various sections, planning and scheduling, coordinating resources (personnel, materials, time, money, suppliers), preparing proper documentation, etc.; Provide engineering expertise in the design, fabrication, development, installation, validation, and qualification of equipment/product which may include feasibility studies and/or proper documentation for justification of project and training to ensure proper operation of equipment; Provide assistance for planning and implementation of projects to develop, install, and qualify new processes for manufacturing new products or improving existing processes; research and implement cost reduction projects; Gather, track and analyzing production data for meetings, business plan, etc. (Yields/output/efficiencies); Plan work schedules, expenditures, attend meetings, and prepare monthly reports; Work with logistics, regulatory and quality for organized distribution of product; Performs other duties related to job.
Job qualifications :
- This position requires a four year degree in an engineering discipline
- 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment for designing, specifying, packaging and labeling.
- Must have the ability to create and work from engineering drawings and/or specs of particular engineering discipline.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills necessary.
- Sound knowledge of statistical techniques, engineering drafting and personal computer knowledge needed.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral, required.
- The candidate must be able to lead project work.
- This position must have knowledge and utilization of electronic/chemical equipment and tools in laboratory testing, inspection systems, etc.
- A very important requirement is the knowledge of GMP/FDA regulations.
