Director of Strategic Marketing - Medical Imaging  (Job ID:  135 DSMM)

Position Summary:

The Director of Strategic Marketing - Medical Imaging will  act as an internal consultant to design, execute, and interpret market research and other analysis that will contribute to high impact marketing strategies. Working on a high profile team the qualified individual will support a portfolio of innovative imaging products.  The qualified candidate will possess expertise on imaging technology as well as on the methodologies and processes for assessing the marketplace to include identifying growth opportunities; diagnosing customer needs and behavior; understanding competitive dynamics; testing pricing, positioning, and messaging strategies; and measuring tactics to enable effective marketing choices. Conducting market and product opportunity assessment, strategy formulation and valuation for existing businesses and potential acquisitions/internal development opportunities are other important duties.  The qualified candidate will have a strong background and proven track record in managing Medical Advisory Boards, driving presentation opportunities at medical seminars and driving/directing clinical white papers. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, execute and interpret market research to help formulate marketing strategies
• Manage Medical Advisory Boards, drive presentation opportunities at medical seminars, and direct clinical white papers
• Provide imaging technology expertise for marketing plan development
• Provide expertise in the methodologies and processes for marketplace assessment
• Identify growth opportunities and diagnose customer needs
• Test pricing, positioning and messaging strategies to enable effective marketing choices
• Conduct market and product opportunity assessment
• Participate in strategy formulation and valuation for existing businesses and potential acquisitions and new internal development opportunities

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical or Life/Physical Sciences is required
• MBA or Master’s degree in a Clinical or Technical field is preferred.

Position Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years work experience including involvement in market research, design and implementation with a strategic focus.
• Proven track record in managing Medical Advisory Boards, driving speaking opportunities at medical meetings, and directing clinical white papers
• Experience working as an external or internal consultant with responsibility preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical or consumer industry
• Technical knowledge of the imaging industry
• Experience designing, executing and interpreting market research
• Experience in conducting market and product opportunity assessment for existing and potential clients or as part of a globally focused healthcare company
• Expertise in the methodologies and processes for assessing the marketplace
• Knowledge and understanding of competitive dynamics in healthcare
