Product Manager - Small Joint Orthopedics (Job ID: 166 PMLE)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Manager, Lower Extremity, Small Joint Orthopedics will be part of a dynamic team managing the profitable development of the foot and ankle. The successful candidate will have experience managing lower extremity orthopedic (preferred) cranial facial, CMF, dental, neurosurgical, podiatry or surgical trauma, closure devices products and be proficient to plan, organize, and control the small joint product line from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.

Company Description:
Our client, Ascension Orthopedics, is a leading medical device company located in
Austin, Texas. Ascension is dedicated to the research, design, development and marketing of small joint disorders.
Ascension continues to expand their product line to include Foot and Ankle product and is looking for additional leadership in Product Manager to head up and grow the Foot and Ankle line. The Product Manager will be responsible for new product launches and provide technical and marketing support to specific product lines.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and coordinate support activities including: sales and marketing material, medical education, marketing programs for sales force
- Refines current products works with R&D, Engineering, and orthopedic and podiatric surgeons. New product launch planning and execution
- Monitor/gather information on new market developments, needs, and competition through publications, trade journals, at trade shows, and interaction with the field.
- Develops and refines Pricing Strategy and Competitive Pricing, and Market Share Analysis, estimating potential profits, and release to production specific to the small joint family of products via market analysis, product strategy and research and development. Produces competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors.
- Collect product data, develop and maintain case studies of product and success stories
- Participate in trade shows and labs to maintain company image and remain aware of product requirements, new market opportunities and competitive products
- Use design input to create marketing materials such as surgical techniques, brochures, product bulletins, videos, newsletters, ads
- Work closely with key functional areas including, engineering, marketing communications, regulatory, sales, executive management and manufacturing
- Serve as a liaison between field and product development to continue to improve and develop key products/instrumentation
Education:
B.A/B.S. degree in marketing, business management, sales or equivalent experience.
