Position Summary:

The client company is a pharmaceutical company whose emphasis is on researching and producing medical solutions in the areas of cancer, infectious diseases or inflammatory diseases.  The IT Solutions Technical Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development of internal strategies and solutions planning, and for communicating them to the design team.  Position responsibilities also include management of the IT project portfolio by emphasizing and implementing cross-project dependencies, and by practicing risk management strategies to ensure the implementation of realistic project commitments.  The qualified candidate should have an expert understanding of project management principles and methodologies, strong organizational skills and a proven ability to identify, manage and mitigate issues and risks. 

Primary Responsibilities:·  

Providing technology solutions for business units; ·  Providing an architecture framework for technology solutions at the application and data level of systems based upon business user requirements; ·  Developing and implementing system-based solutions; ·  Managing vendor partners in the delivery and support of technology to support business capability needs.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a computer related field is preferred

Position Requirements:

• 4-5 years of work experience in an IT environment, including the analysis of IT support requirements and the management of IT projects
• 2-3 years work experience managing technical resources to include internal and vendor partners
• A proven track record of managing and coordinating several projects simultaneously while delivering on time and on schedule while meeting customer expectations
• Must have strong organizational skills and expertise in project management principles and methodologies (PMP Certification preferred)
• Must be familiar with Data Mining 
• Must have an understanding of ITIL processes and procedures
• Must understand FDA Section 21 CFR Part 11 as it related to IT projects
• Must understand Sarbanes-Oxley as it relates to IT development and general computer controls
