Position Summary:
The Associate Director of IT Vendor Support will be responsible for implementing strategic sourcing goals to support and further the IT solutions design team strategies, based on his/her business acumen and understanding of ITIL processes and procedures for a pharmaceutical company whose emphasis is on researching and producing medical solutions in the areas of cancer, infectious diseases or inflammatory diseases.
The qualified candidate be charged with maintaining the outsourcing vendor relationship, increasing the quality of service delivery while will decreasing the cost of operations. You must have a strong IT background as well as an ability to anticipate IT innovations and software advancements and prior experience managing a strong internal team and external technology service vendors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Execute on strategic sourcing plans to support and further the IT solutions design team strategies
- Manage outsourced vendor resources, serving as liaison between vendors and the company
- Monitor adherence to Service Level Agreements and written agreements between external resources (including vendor partners) and the company
- Communicate customer current and anticipated needs to upper management
- Work with IT leadership and design teams to define strategic sourcing goals that align with the solution design team strategies
- Remain informed of software innovations and advancements to better manage the IT design activities
- Provide requested solution design resources from a pool of internal, external and vendor resources
- Lead development of RFIs and RFPs, as well as vendor selection and service level agreement negotiation
Manages Professional team of 3-6 Managers and Analysts (Direct) plus extermal vendors
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a computer related field is preferred
Position Requirements:
- 10+ years work experience in the IT field (required)
- DIRECT experience managing the service delivery by technology vendors in an outsourced arrangement
- Prior experience within or managing vendor relationships with IT, BPO, or consulting companies such as Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) IBM, Accenture, Infosys, Satyam, HCL Technologies, Siemens IT Soltuions, IMS, Wipro or Tata Consultancy Services (TCS Limited ) Progeon Limited, KPMG, EDS, Keane, Syntel, CGI Group, ESRI or Capgemini (not a complete list).
- 5-7 years of management experience in an IT organization with experience in managing Technology Service Vendor deliverables (required)
- 5-7 years of work experince as project manager and team leader, with a proven track record of managing several project simultaneously resulting in a successful implementation
- 5+ years of work experience with vendor management and the management of partner resources and culturally diverse cross functional teams
- 3+ years experience dealing with off-shore and/or out-sourced vendors, including negotiation, performance audits & validation
- Must be “tough-minded”, with a straightforward and professional manner
- Experience with adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) from both a delivery and content perspective, including managing written agreements between vendors and the company
- Must have demonstrated skills in vendor deliverable assessment and management including administration, operational management and budget analysis in an IT organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage development resources, including internal, external, contracted staff augmentation, and outsourcing partners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience presenting project information in both formal and informal settings
- Demonstrated ability to meet customer expectations, and placing importance on customer service
- Experience in using analysis, troubleshooting, and other problem identification and resolution techniques
- Understanding of FDA Section 21, CFR Part 11 as it relates to IT projects
- Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley as it relates to IT development and general computer controls
- Understanding of ITIL processes and procedures
