Position Summary:
As Associate Director of SFA Implementation Technology, you will be responsible for providing information system technology solutions to support the sales force of a pharmaceutical company whose emphasis is on researching and producing medical solutions in the areas of cancer, infectious diseases or inflammatory diseases.
You will manage a team who will provide technical project management for delivery system solutions for Customer Relationship Management (CRM), field sales data architecture for the collection and reporting of sales functions. This position will be charged with contributing to the development of the IT strategy and communicating the strategy to the organization’s solution design team, as well as management of design teams and vendor partners. You will have prior functional or technical exposure with one or more of the major SFA (Sales Force Automation) and COTS packages such as SalesLogix, PeopleSoft, Oracle CRM, Oracle-Siebel (Siebel SFA, Microsoft CRM, SAP, Lawson, JDE, Salesforce.com, IMS Health and SAI/Dendrite or data warehousing and business intelligence. Other helpful backgrounds include prior experience within or managing relationships with IT, BPO, or consulting companies such as Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) IBM, Accenture, Infosys, Satyam, HCL Technologies, Gartner, Siemens IT Solutions, IMS, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS Limited ) Progeon Limited, KPMG, EDS, Keane, Syntel, CGI Group, ESRI or Capgemini, Siperian (not a complete list). The qualified candidate will have an IT background as well as experience interfacing with a sales team and with vendor relationship management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide information system technology solutions to support the sales force and marketing team
- Provide technical project management for delivery system solutions
- Contribute to the development of the IT strategy and communicate the strategy to the solution design team
- Manage the design teams and vendor partners
- Analyze and make a determination between internal and vendor produced delivery systems
- Provide necessary resources for support of software evaluations, solution design, and data architecture review and management
- Provide guidance on the resolution of internal or customer related issues
- Implement design team performance management activities (planning, monitoring and appraisals) and disciplinary actions
Manages a team of 3-6 direct reports plus external vendors
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a computer related field is preferred
Position Requirements:
- 10+ years work experience with software development and implementation of off the shelf software packages related to sales and sales reporting for large organizations
- 5 - 7 years management experience in an IT organization or division and with project management and team leadership. You MUST have managed a large CRM project.
- Understanding of FDA Section 21, CFR Part 11 as it relates to IT projects
- Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley as it relates to IT development and general computer controls
- Understanding and knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange ( EDI )
- Demonstrated ability in strategy development and implementation
- Proven track record of coordinating several projects simultaneously with successful implementation
- 5+ years experience in vendor management
- Demonstrated problem identification, isolation and resolution skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience making presentations in both formal and informal settings
- Experience with staff development, management and retention
