Position Summary:

The client company is a worldwide leader in medical products, manufacturing, distributing, and marketing high quality capital equipment and consumable medical devices. The company is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Research and Development Department. This position is responsible for planning, directing and implementing projects to develop new products or improve manufacturing processes of existing products that directly affect safety, quality, and productivity with the end result of producing a better quality product more efficiently. This position is responsible for the direction of engineers, machine designers, and technicians. The Engineer Manager will also act as a liaison between R&D and other company departments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and follow proper ISO procedures, GMP requirements
  • Provide the engineering discipline and leadership required to plan and implement projects to develop, install, and qualify new processes for manufacturing new products or for improving existing processes
  • Provide engineering expertise in the design, development, fabrication, installation and qualification of equipment
  • Provide direction, leadership, and training to engineers, machine designers, and technicians
  • Monitor work schedules and expenditures of project team
  • Plan project improvements and troubleshooting of production equipment
  • Identify cost reduction projects and financial analysis (justification of capital)
  • Plan projects including resources, work schedules, expenditures, attend meetings, and prepare monthly reports as required

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline

Position Requirements:

  • 8-10 years experience in manufacturing environment for implementing major manufacturing and automation projects
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment which have been supervisory in nature
  • Knowledge in finance for working with budgets/capital expenditures
  • Strong background in mathematics, mechanics, physics, and electrical principles
  • Strong background using test equipment
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of GMP/FDA/ISO regulations
  • Must also be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
