Position Summary:

A worldwide leader in surgical medical devices is seeking an experienced Clinical Product Development Specialist to support entry into the surgical instrument market. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the product development effort and future market introduction of a unique surgical instrument system. Part of your responsibilities will include procedure development, customer training and education, clinical support, management of clinical studies and other sales support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the communications for and coordination of the technical developments of laparoscopic, mininally invasive endoscopic surgical instruments
  • Support marketing and sales initiatives for the product line
  • Define and coordinate all technical requirements for selling and supporting the product line
  • Gather information from potential customers and help develop the product that meets customer needs
  • Make technical visits on behalf of the company to various customers, potential customers, and other organizations.
  • Manage the processes of development of product, market, marketing initiatives, sales training systems, business plan implementation and monitoring

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a medical related discipline is required
  • Master’s degree in a medical related discipline or an MD is preferred
  • Certification as a Surgical PA First Assistant, Surgical PA, RNFA, RN or MD is highly preferred

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of increasing responsibility of work experience in an operating room environment is required
  • Experience in assisting or conducting laparoscopic procedures in gynecology, gastro-intestinal, general surgery or urology is required.
  • Experience working with industry in a product development role is preferred.
  • Experienced in making new contacts at seminars, trade shows, existing and potential customers and turn them into business opportunities
  • Experienced in performing customer needs analysis of the industry and competitive assessments of the industry
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
