Position Summary:

As the Senior Competitive Intelligence Manager, you will develop a formal Competitive Intelligence function and coordinate primary and secondary data to coordinate counter-intelligence and strategy. Once you’ve identified gaps in market knowledge, you will conduct research to fill those gaps and then train internal and field personnel on CI techniques. Using your strong networking skills, you will provide leadership and input into marketing plans, and integrate CI collection into the sales and marketing organization, including coordination of intelligence gathering at conventions and professional meetings.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop a formal Competitive Intelligence function for the Life Science group
• Develop a training program and train internal and field sales on Competitive Intelligence methodology and collection
• Network with industry experts (both internal and external) to interpret findings
• Incorporate CI results into the Marketing plans, and provide input into Marketing strategy
• Coordinate and interpret CI data collection at conventions and professional meetings
• Promote relationships with experts to assist in the interpretation of CI data
• Identify gaps in intelligence and conduct research to fill gaps
• Provide leadership in the incorporation of CI best practices into marketing and management decision making
• Generate CI information in a timely manner to facilitate informed decisions for specific needs

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Science or related field 
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred

Position Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in Competitive Intelligence
• Membership in SCIP
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the ethical and legal requirements for conducting Competitive Intelligence
• Prior experience developing a CI program is preferred 
• Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industries is preferred
• Must be highly skilled at networking
