Position Summary: 
The Regional Sales Manager will build a distribution network through independent agents and distributors for a specialty orthopedic implant company. He or she must be based in a major Southest city and have prior experience building and managing a distributor sales force.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • The development of sales plans, and leading and monitoring impactful sales acitivities
  • Training and managing the distribution network in the assigned territory to obtain sales objectives
  • Assisting in developing the annual sales and production forecast
  • Defining the strategic sales plan and product launch strategy for new products in the defined territory
  • Monitoring and taking responsibility for the implementation of successful product trials and new product introductions
  • Report to the Vice President of US Sales and assist in the development of the annual sales plan for the assigned territory
  • Provide regular and timely feedback on sales perfomance, market dynamics, new target accounts, and organizational performance
  • Provide ideas regarding market and product growth and new product development, introductions and existing product enhancements

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Economics, or Business Administration
  • Personal development courses in leadership and management are a plus

Position Requirements:

  • ******* 1++ years experience managing distributor reps for an orthopedic or surgery based manufacturer (REQUIRED)
  • 3 years of experience in a sales or marketing position in progressively more responsible positions (prior Regional Manager or Division Manager preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing, sales and business processes including CRM
  • A successful track record selling orthopedic implants, other implantables or a high-technology medical device company
  • Must be well acquainted with the health care industry and orthopedic surgeon groups
  • Must be experienced in managing a strong distribution network, and balancing the needs of the team with the company forecast, budget and mission
  • Must have a measurable track record of success in consistently meeting established objectives
  • Must be experienced in developing relationships with champion surgeons who will influence product purchases
