POSITION SUMMARY
Our client is a leading technology and innovation company, with a broad portfolio of consulting expertise and is renowned for its ability to solve technical problems for medical companies ranging from Fortune 50 & Global healthcare companies to Venture backed companies who hire our client to develop and prove IP. Their expertise is broad and includes capabilities to help their client companies develop R&D, license emerging products or make strategic acquisitions in the area of  therapeutic and diagnostic imaging, medical information technologies, patient monitoring, medical device and other life science and diagnostic pharmaceuticals.  

The Business Developer, Surgical Products will sell product design, development and technology consulting services to clients in the Medical Devices industry, focusing primarily on companies developing instruments and implants for use in surgical procedures and medical interventions.  Another responsibility is to develop and maintain an awareness of emerging needs in the marketplace and to feed this knowledge back to the company’s technical teams to facilitate development of new services and products. 

  
Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Identify medical product companies that are potential clients
  • Develop strong commercial relationships with senior executives in those companies
  • Identify sales opportunities, guiding technical teams through to sales conversion
  • Provide market feedback to the technical teams to support product and service development activities
  • Develop and execute transactions to support the business by performing market analysis, identifying targets, presenting the opportunity and structuring/negotiating deals
  • Define strategic and tactical methods to best position your individual market segment for accelerated growth 

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (Required)
  • Master’s degree - MBA preferred 

Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in Medical product development, sales experience with a  design and development services company or sales experience with a medical products company
  • National or Global Contacts with Decision Makers in the Medical Technology Industry 
  • Proven success in developing business in the product development sector with contract values greater than $1M annually
  • Work experience with product development in a regulated environment
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team 
  • Must be eligible to work in the
    US without sponsorship
  • 50% to 70% domestic and international travel
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
