Biomedical Design Engineer (Job ID 142 DE)
The Biomedical Design Engineer will support the design of implant products using design software and 2D drawings. This person will create models of bones and implants with engineering software. Also, this person will need to develop bills of materials and continue to modify existing designs through the ECR/ECN process. You must be able and flexible to work well under changing priorities in a high-energy, demanding environment.

Responsibilities:• Solicit and incorporate inputs from surgeons, marketing, sales, service, manufacturing, quality, other engineering functions, and external customers and partners
• Oversee the planning and designing of methods to improve or enhance existing product development projects
• Procure and evaluate prototypes including rapid prototypes, external vendors, and internal
• Develop and recommend revisions or enhancements to schedules, human and monetary resource allocations, and production requirements..
• Support development efforts between all team members (internal and external) including instrumentation, robotics, software, surgical systems, and system integration as required
• Analyze and review budgets, schedules, production requirements and headcount to determine the most cost effective and efficient methods of obtaining necessary resources.
• Ensure projects are completed on time.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Biomechanical Engineering
• 4+ years parametric CAD experience (SolidWorks required, Unigraphics, Pro/E, AutoCAD, etc.)
• Geometric, dimensioning, & tolerancing (GD&T)
• High proficiency in computer software and programming (Microsoft Excel, Matlab, Labview, Excel VBA, Fortran, C, C+, etc.)
• Machining experience (mill, lathe, etc.)• Previous orthopaedic implant design experience
• Knowledge of anatomy and terminology
